Where do I send the ashes for my order?

Each item description on our website states which artist makes that particular item. Ashes must be sent directly to that artist’s studio. Please do not send ashes to our Kansas City office. If you’re unsure which artist is making your items, please review the listings for the items in your cart. Artist shipping addresses can be found on our Artists page.

How much of the ashes are required?

Each product description specifies exactly how much ash is required to create that item. Generally speaking, our jewelry and keepsakes use around ¼ teaspoon of ash per item. Paperweights typically use around ½ teaspoon, while our extra-large suncatchers need around 1 teaspoon at most. For reference, ¼ teaspoon of ash is roughly the size of a dime.

Please send only the amount of ash requested for each item. This ensures that our artists can create your piece without excess ash going unused or needing to be scattered. Keep in mind, we carefully select and use only the finest portions of the ashes to honor your loved one.

How long does it take to complete an order?

Most orders are completed within 4–6 weeks, depending on the artist. You can view current turnaround times on our Artists page. Tracking information will be sent to you once your items ship from the artist’s studio.

How do I mail cremated remains?

As of March 1, 2025, USPS requires that all cremated remains be shipped using Priority Mail Express in a Cremated Remains Shipping Kit, which can be picked up at your local post office or ordered for free online.
To ensure safe delivery and compliance with USPS regulations:

  • Use Priority Mail Express only
  • Package ashes in the USPS Cremated Remains Shipping Kit
  • Affix Label 139 (Cremated Remains) to the box
  • Pay full postage
  • Drop off at a post office counter (not in a drop box)
  • Save your tracking number and receipt

Improperly shipped ashes may be delayed, returned, or incur additional charges. Unfortunately, our artists can no longer accept packages that do not meet these USPS standards. Please feel free to include a photo or letter about your loved one. We’d be honored to learn more about them.💙

Can I use more than one set of ashes in a single piece?

Yes — we can blend multiple sets of ashes into one item at no extra charge. You may send them premixed or separated, but please be sure to include a note with clear instructions.

What happens to the unused portion of ashes?

All unused cremains are held for 90 days. This gives you time to decide if you’d like to have additional items made or have the unused ashes returned. If we do not hear from you within 90 days, the remaining ashes will be scattered locally with care and reverence. If you prefer to have the unused ashes returned with your order, please click here.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we do! International shipping rates will vary depending on the destination. Please select the international shipping option at checkout. What does the 30-Day Breakage Protection cover?

Our Breakage Protection covers rare instances where a memorial arrives with a chip, crack, or structural breakage related to the glass itself, or experiences accidental breakage within 30 days of delivery. In these cases, we will assess the piece and, when appropriate, offer a repair or remake at no additional cost.


What is not covered under the Breakage Protection?

Breakage Protection does not cover:

  • Damage caused by shipping carriers (such as crushed or visibly damaged boxes)

  • Lost or stolen packages

  • Color, shape, or size preferences

  • Natural variations inherent to handmade glass

  • Normal wear over time or intentional misuse

What if my package arrives with a damaged or crushed box?

If your package arrives with visible external damage, we recommend documenting the condition immediately and contacting the shipping carrier directly, as these situations fall under carrier responsibility. Shipping-related damage is not automatically covered under our Breakage Protection.

What if the box looks fine, but the memorial is cracked or chipped?

If your package appears intact but you notice a crack, chip, or breakage upon careful unpacking, please contact us within 30 days of delivery and include clear photos. These situations are reviewed under our Breakage Protection, and a repair or remake may be offered when appropriate.

How do I know where to send the ashes for my order?

How much of the ashes are required to create something?

For most orders, we only require a single tbsp. of the ashes (total) to make between 7-10 different pieces. Our rings and pendants utilize roughly 1/4 tsp. per item, while our paperweights and suncatchers each use around 1/2 tsp. When ordering from multiple artists, please send 1 tbsp. of ashes to each corresponding artist. This is to ensure each artist has enough ashes to extract the usable material.

How do I properly mail cremated remains via USPS?

  1. The package is sent via Priority Mail Express.
  2. The identity of the contents “Cremated Remains” should be marked on the address side of the parcel.
  3. Ashes should be mailed in double (2) zip-lock bags. This ensures that the remains won’t escape from their containers and cause damage, discomfort, destruction, or soiling.
  4. Please clearly write your full name (not the name of the deceased) and telephone number on the actual zip-lock bag in permanent marker so our staff can easily identify your package.
  5. Optional: A photograph and letter about your loved one. We would love to know about their life, personality, character etc. Whatever you feel like sharing, we want to hear about it 💙

​Can you use more than one set of ashes to make a single piece?

Yes! When shipping our memorials internationally, the cost is generally between $15 – $35 USD depending on weight and destination.
