For most orders, we only require a single tbsp. of the ashes (total) to make between 7-10 different pieces. Our rings and pendants utilize roughly 1/4 tsp. per item, while our paperweights and suncatchers each use around 1/2 tsp. When ordering from multiple artists, please send 1 tbsp. of ashes to each corresponding artist. This is to ensure each artist has enough ashes to extract the usable material.

Yes, we can use multiple sets of ashes to create individual items. There is no extra charge for this. You may send the ashes premixed or separated. Whichever is easiest for you. Please be sure to include a note in your package so our artists are clear on how to create your items.
Our artists are instructed to hold the ashes for 90 days before scattering them locally. This gives you time to decide if you’d like to have additional items made or have the unused ashes returned. In the rare event that you are discontent with your order, please let us know and we will do our best to alleviate the issue. Non-personalized items may be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is unused and in its original condition. To initiate a return, please contact us and we will provide instructions along with a prepaid return label.

Because the majority of our memorials are custom-made using cremation ashes, personalized memorial pieces are final sale unless there is a defect or breakage related to craftsmanship (see Breakage Protection below).
Sands of Time offers a 30-day Breakage Protection Guarantee to address rare instances where a memorial experiences cracking or breakage related to the glass itself.
If your memorial arrives and, upon careful unpacking, you notice:
A chip
A crack
Or other structural breakage in the glass
Please contact us within 30 days of delivery and include clear photographs of the issue. In these cases, we will assess the piece and, when appropriate, offer a repair or remake at no additional cost.
This guarantee applies to issues related to the glass or craftsmanship and is intended as an added layer of care and reassurance.
We take great care in packaging all memorials securely. If your package arrives with visible external damage, please document the condition immediately and contact us. We will assist you in filing a carrier claim when appropriate.

Artistic variations in color, size, or shape
Natural differences inherent to handmade glass
Normal wear over time
Intentional misuse
