Our Blue Tourmaline Birthstone Paperweight with Ashes is handcrafted in cool blue tones inspired by blue tourmaline, one of the traditional birthstones for October. A small portion of cremation ashes is permanently encased within the glass, where the Sparkle Swirl design combines rich color, visible ash patterns, and subtle shimmering detail throughout the piece.
Each paperweight is made by hand, so every memorial will have its own natural variation in color, pattern, and ash placement. Blue tourmaline can honor an October birthday, a favorite shade of blue, or simply someone whose memory you want to keep close. Display it on a desk, shelf, bedside table, or another special place in your home. You can also explore more of our cremation glass paperweights.
Questions About Cremation Glass Paperweights
+Can cremation paperweights be made with human or pet ashes?
Yes. This memorial paperweight can be created with either human or pet cremated remains. The same careful process is used whether the piece is being made in memory of a family member, friend, or beloved animal companion.
+Can you see the ashes inside the finished paperweight?
Yes. The cremation ashes remain visible within the finished glass and often appear as soft white or lightly shimmering patterns throughout the design. Because each paperweight is made by hand, the exact placement and appearance of the ashes will naturally vary from piece to piece.
+How are ashes placed inside a glass paperweight?
The artist carefully incorporates a small portion of the cremation ashes while shaping the hot glass. Additional glass is then formed around them, permanently sealing the ashes within the finished paperweight. There is no chamber, opening, or removable plug that needs to be filled at home.
+How much ash is needed for this paperweight?
This paperweight requires approximately 1/2 teaspoon of cremation ashes. Only a small portion is needed to create the memorial, and the ashes are permanently incorporated into the glass during the making process.
