How it’s made
Chris Santora creating a glass bullet tip memorial keepsake with cremation ashes in his studio
In the studio
Chris creates each memorial at a bench torch using clear borosilicate glass, often known as Pyrex. A small amount of cremation ash is blended into crushed colored glass, and clear molten glass is gently dipped into that mixture. The piece is then fully encased in clear glass using a scientific glassblowing technique called imploding, permanently sealing the color and ash inside the glass. Once finished, the handcrafted glass tip is securely set into the bullet casing.
