Cremation ashes are added to glass cremation pendants by incorporating a small amount of ash into the molten or softened glass during the glassmaking process. As the pendant is formed, the ashes are fused into the glass and permanently sealed inside the finished piece.
Most glass cremation necklaces require about 1/4 teaspoon of cremation ash per pendant or item. Only a small amount is needed to create the memorial glass.
Glass cremation necklaces and urn necklaces both preserve cremation ashes, but they are made differently. A glass cremation necklace has ashes sealed into the glass during the creation process, while an urn necklace usually has a small hollow chamber that holds loose ashes.
