Our Traditional Icicle Ornament is a simple and elegant way to keep your loved one close during the holidays and throughout the year. Each icicle is individually handcrafted and infused with a small portion of cremation ash, permanently sealed inside the clear glass. The ashes create soft, natural patterns within the glass, making every piece completely unique. Designed to hang on a Christmas tree, this ornament can also be displayed in a window or other special place, year-round.

How it’s made

In the studio
Chris creates each memorial at a bench torch using clear borosilicate glass, often known as Pyrex. A small amount of cremation ash is blended into crushed colored glass, and clear molten glass is gently dipped into that mixture. The piece is then fully encased in clear glass using a scientific glassblowing technique called imploding, permanently sealing the color and ash inside the glass.

Tip: make sure the name on your shipment matches the name used at checkout, so the artist can easily identify your package.

How to Send the Ashes
  1. Place the required amount of ashes in two tightly sealed Ziplock bags.
  2. Clearly write your name and telephone number on the bag using permanent marker, or place a small card with your name and phone number inside the bag.
  3. Use the USPS Small Cremated Remains Shipping Kit, these kits are free and can be ordered online.

  4. The USPS requires cremated remains be shipped using Priority Mail Express. Pack the bagged ashes securely inside the kit following the included instructions.
  5. Bring the package to the post office counter, please do not place it in a drop box.
  6. Keep your receipt and tracking number. The artist will also send tracking when your memorial is shipped from the studio.

  • Ashes should be packaged in two tightly sealed Ziplock bags, labeled with your name and telephone number (not the name of the deceased).
  • Make sure the name on your shipment matches the name used when placing the order.
