Our Aquamarine Birthstone Paperweight with Ashes is handcrafted in the soft blue tones of aquamarine, the traditional birthstone for March. Flowing ribbons of aqua and blue, a touch of sparkle, and a small portion of cremation ashes are permanently encased within the clear glass. The Sparkle Swirl design gives the piece a gentle sense of movement, allowing the color and ashes to shift beautifully as the light moves through it.
Each paperweight is individually made by hand, so the swirl, color, and placement of the ashes will be unique to the memorial being created. While aquamarine is especially meaningful for a March birthday, it can also be chosen for a favorite color, a special memory, or simply because it feels like the right way to remember someone you love. Display it on a desk, shelf, bedside table, or memorial space as a beautiful keepsake made to keep their memory close. You can also explore more of our cremation glass paperweights.
Questions About Cremation Glass Paperweights
+Can cremation paperweights be made with human or pet ashes?
Yes. This memorial paperweight can be created with either human or pet cremated remains. The same careful process is used whether the piece is being made in memory of a family member, friend, or beloved animal companion.
+Can you see the ashes inside the finished paperweight?
Yes. The cremation ashes remain visible within the finished glass and often appear as soft white or lightly shimmering patterns throughout the design. Because each paperweight is made by hand, the exact placement and appearance of the ashes will naturally vary from piece to piece.
+How are ashes placed inside a glass paperweight?
The artist carefully incorporates a small portion of the cremation ashes while shaping the hot glass. Additional glass is then formed around them, permanently sealing the ashes within the finished paperweight. There is no chamber, opening, or removable plug that needs to be filled at home.
+How much ash is needed for this paperweight?
This paperweight requires approximately 1/2 teaspoon of cremation ashes. Only a small portion is needed to create the memorial, and the ashes are permanently incorporated into the glass during the making process.
